1. Can you tell us about the fire mishap that you had faced?

3. After going through such a grueling experience, have you ever tried to light a cracker again?

4. How long were you under treatment for the complete recovery?

5. How many school days had been lost due to the accident?

6. What were your parents’ reactions after the unfortunate incident?

7. Which cracker did you try to light?

8. Do you still recommend lighting of crackers? If so, what are the precautions to be taken while using crackers?

9. What is your advice to children like us, regarding lighting of crackers?

REPORT ON INTERVIEW WITH MASTER AKASH OF CLASS IX C

Our group was entrusted with the topic “Interview with Master Akash”, who had met with a fire accident recently. Our group consisted of five members - Adit.S, Advaith, Akhil, Navneeth and Vishnu. We discussed and formed the outline of the questions to be asked. On 02^nd December, 2016 we conducted the interview with Master Akash in the school.

The Interview started with Adit.S by asking the following questions:

Adit Can you tell us about the worst experience you have faced?

Akash I met with a fire accident which caused severe burn injury on my face.

Adit Was any first aid given to you? If so, what was the first aid?

Akash        Yes. I washed my face with cold water repeatedly and applied an ointment.

Adit           After going through such a gruelling experience, have you ever tried to light a cracker again

Akash        Not very often.

Then Vishnu asked the following question:

Vishnu After getting badly injured while lighting the cracker, what was the treatment you had undergone?

Akash I was taken to the hospital immediately after the incident took place. There I was treated for the injury.

Navneeth wanted to know the following points:

Navneeth How long were you under treatment for the complete recovery?

Akash I was under treatment for three to four days.

Navneeth How many school days have been lost due to the accident?

Akash I lost seven school days due to the accident.

Next Advaith continued by asking the following questions:

Advaith What were your parents’ reactions after the unfortunate incident?

Akash They scolded me for not being careful while lighting the cracker and never allowed me to light any cracker afterwards.

Advaith Which cracker did you try to light?

Akash It was a very powerful cracker which burst with a loud noise and bright light.

Akhil concluded the interview by asking the following questions:

Akhil Do you still recommend lighting of crackers? If so, what are the precautions to be taken while using crackers?

Akash I recommend lighting of crackers but only with precautions. While lighting crackers, you have to maintain a safe distance from the cracker.

Akhil What is your advice to children like us, regarding lighting of crackers?

Akash Always light crackers strictly under the supervision of elders. While lighting crackers, keep a safe distance and keep sufficient water nearby. Also do not wear inflammable clothes, instead you can wear cotton clothes.
